About Me
Let me introduce myself. My name is Johnny LaLonde. I am Christian Counselor in Orlando, FL. I have been living here most of my life and now reside here with my wife, Christy. Allow me to tell you a little bit more about myself.
Spiritual:
I have been a Christian since 2002. I grew up in a home where I thought I was a Christian but actually had no idea what a relationship with Jesus actually looked like. In 2002, God brought me to University Presbyterian Church. I became a Christian there through the college ministry. I credit my coming to faith first to God and second to Tom Carpenter. He was the college ministry director at that time and took the initiative to really question me about my faith and offer me the truth of the Gospel. From that point, I began to grow in my faith at the church through Bible studies, Sunday morning worship, community and of course, the college ministry. By the time I graduated, God had pointed me toward the field of psychology and would soon point me toward Seminary. During my time in the counseling program at RTS, my faith and understanding began to grow deeper. I really began to understand ways that I had hidden from God and turned to empty wells. I began to understand with my mind and feel with my heart the necessity I had for Christ. It was during my time at RTS that I was engaged to Christy and eventually married. God brought us together at that time and allowed us to grow together as we began our life as a married couple. Today, I am continually humbled by the journey God has set me on. There is no end to connection with Him. Everything we get in this life is wonderful and everything we get in this life will pale in comparison to when we have the whole thing.
Personal:
At present, I live in Central Florida with my wife, Christy, and our dog Maya. I have been married since 2007 and have known my wife since 2002. We met while attending University Presbyterian Church. We enjoy board games like Settler’s of Catan. We also enjoy National Parks for the hiking and beautiful sites. We long for a day when we live in a state that is not flat as a pancake. But for now, we occaisionally find our way outside for hiking or bike riding. We love eating ethnic food. Our favorites are Thai and Indian. I am also a sucker for Carrabba’s. Finally, we enjoy watching some television shows together. Heroes is one of our favorites although we are both dissappointed with this current season. We also enjoy the show Lie To Me. Very cool.
I enjoy spending time with our closest friends. I am always in for good conversation and my high level of extraversion gives me a pretty high capacity for it. I love NBA basketball and have been an avid Orlando Magic fan since 1995. I am no fairweather friend. When I have the chance, I do my best to impersonate a basketball player in a local game with friends. I love to think about ideas and dream about what the possibilities are. I love dogs and cannot ever see my life without one.
